Realization Phase

The next phase of the process is Realization or Design phase of the Project.

The purpose of the Realization Phase is to design, model, build, prototype, and test the SAP solution according to the business processes as defined in the Business Blueprint.  The SCEIS HR/Payroll team resources will configure the business process identified in the blueprint.  The configured system will reflect the State organization and master data as well as support fully integrated process flows through the system.  A playback of State business processes to both the Project team as well as other key users of each business process allow for feedback as well as further confirmation of the blueprint.

The next steps of this phase are to develop the SAP system into an integrated and documented solution that fulfills the State business and process requirements.  To achieve this, the configuration of each core business process will be divided into iterations or cycles of related business process flows.  The business process flows are configured in parallel with the development of reports, user procedures, testing scenarios and security profiles.  The cycles not only provide milestones for the Project team but also provide checkpoints to test and “playback” specific parts of the overall business process.  This approach provides immediate feedback as well as involves the entire SCEIS team throughout the Project life cycle.

During the Blueprinting Process, the HR/Payroll Team developed key roles for use in assigning security in the system, and mapping users to training.
